We have decided not to issue a house-to-house leaflet at least for the next quarter as we are now having material put on a sheet in church each week.

We endeavour to open both our churches daily.

Refreshment is available in both.

Please address any enquiries or communications to:

Forthcoming Events

August 25th Musical Concert for the Hospice

by the Halsey Family

7 pm Parish Church

A ‘BIG’ thank you to all people living in the vicinity of the old church for your patience and understanding during the felling of the three yew trees in the old church yard. We realise that there was much noise and disturbance but the old church can now ‘breathe’ again, light is pouring in and it is drying out nicely. We hope many of you benefitted from the yew wood and your log piles are full for next winter.

The Peace Garden - Work Party Dates

1st Tuesday morning of each month 10-12

September 7th, October 5th.

Please feel free to tend the garden at other times as it is always open and needs your care and attention.

THE PARISH of St. LAWRENCE
PARISH NEWSLETTER

We offer a warm welcome to all our summer visitors at this time of the year and hope they will enjoy refreshment with us, both spiritually & physically, as they look around our interesting, historic churches and beautiful village.

Our peace garden, situated just above the old church, is a very spe-cial place to visit for visitors and everybody in our community. It’s peace and tranquillity will surround you!

We thank two local tree surgeons who gave up their time to supply us with chippings, from the three great Yew trees cut down in the old churchyard, for the paths in the peace garden and we thank the regu-lars who help tend the garden so devotedly each month.

We enjoyed the musical duo ‘Solace’ playing their atmospheric music for us in the peace garden at our coffee morning in April and we hope to welcome them back again soon.

In May we had a most hilarious Beetle Drive which brought together 38 from our community in a great fun evening. Well done to Pam who had the highest score of 158 and commiserations to Joyce who’s dice throwing skills need to be practiced before next time! Many thanks to all those who organised this event and those who supported us.

Our Easter services were well received with several visitors swelling our congregation. It is always lovely to welcome Christian visitors staying at St. Rhadegunds guest house. This year we are especially lucky to be holding our Strawberry Tea at

St. Rhadegunds in June (See back page for details).

Please come along and enjoy this and our other

summer community events.
